The story is told by anonymous storyteller who is young boy and he lives in girl's neighbour. He also has watched these girls for a long time in far distance. Even he hasn't spoken with these girls very usually, he seems to know very much about them. You might have already quess this but yes, he's little bit obsessed over them like his friend and all young boys. The story doens't tell only just what happend to girls before and after Cecilia's suicide, it also tells about investigation about Cecilia's suicide and life after the book's end. It includes interviews with different person in this town and some photos from Lisbon's house. It's little bit hard to tell what kind of characters girls were because the narrator only tells about what he has saw or heard. Only thing what comes to my mind is that the girls were probably desperate because their parents were very religious and over-protective. As far as I can remember girls had more and more less hours at outside and they were not allowed to do all the same things what girls in their age usually do.
Like I said it's hard to tell what kind of characters girls were but maybe this story's purpose is that we don't know what girls think or why. We are like the narrator, we knew what they looked a like but we did not know what they were thinking.
"To say the death was suicide, we should know the ultimate purpose. It's very hard to say what those girls were thinking and what they were trying to do."
I recommed this book to everyone because....well, there is not particularly reason why but this could be interesting to read story in someone outsider's view. One bad thing in this book was because this narrator is outsider, he might tell about something what doesn't have to do with the story, so it might get little bit booring at some point but in the end it's very good book.
